How Skinny is too Skinny?
According to a clinical study done in the United States, it has been reported that 90% of people suffering from Bulima Nervosa are said to be female. There is no specific culture Bulima seems to affect; however, studies have shown it tends to be more common with caucasian females with few from other ethnic groups. Bulima Nervosa's onset time tends to be around adolescents or young adulthood. Bulima tends to occur after many attempts at dieting. Bulima itself is not said to be genetic; however, moods, depression, and eating behaviours are. These genetic factors make it much easier for a daughter of a mother who has once suffered from Bulima to experience it herself.
